Transactional emails
Folio now sends proper emails at the right moments:
- Waitlist confirmation when you join the waitlist
- Welcome email after you verify your account
- Onboarding follow-up if you haven't started writing yet — a gentle nudge with tips on getting started
- Upgrade confirmation when you move to a paid plan
- Cancellation confirmation if you cancel — no guilt, no tricks, just a confirmation
Security hardening
We did a full security audit of the platform and addressed every finding before opening to beta users. Headers, input validation, session management, access controls — all reviewed and tightened. Nothing specific to share here, but we take it seriously and it's done.
What's next
We're working on a few things for the next releases:
- Citation import from Zotero and Mendeley
- Mobile-optimised editor for writing on the go
- Real-time collaborative editing (beyond view and comment)
- Dissertation mode for PhD researchers working on book-length projects
