This is our biggest release yet. Reading and writing now happen in the same place.
Read the paper where you write
Open any source to read its full PDF inside Folio, in a window you can move around and resize over your draft. No more switching to a browser, downloading a file, and losing your train of thought.
Folio finds the PDF for you
When you add a source — by DOI, by searching, or by pasting a reference — Folio quietly looks for a freely available (open-access) copy and attaches it. When one exists, it's simply there the next time you open the reader. When it isn't, you can paste a link or upload the file yourself.
Turn a passage into a cited quote
Select text in the PDF and drop it into your draft as a block quote or woven into your sentence. Folio adds the in-text citation and the page number for you. Because the words come straight from the source, the quote shows as verified in Quote Check.
Ask about what you're reading
Flip the reader to Ask to ask questions about the open paper — its argument, its method, its limitations — and get answers drawn only from that source, with quotes.
Open a source from the Sources panel to try it.
