Settings had grown piecemeal. This release rebuilds it into one clear control center — and wires up a few switches that used to be promises.
Everything you can control, in one place
Settings is now organized into Profile, Account, Research & writing, Notifications, Appearance, Privacy & data, Plan & billing, Beta, and a Danger zone. A couple of preferences that were buried in onboarding are now editable too — your specialization and typical paper length, both of which sharpen AI features.
Notifications you actually own
- Deadline reminders — an email as a document's deadline approaches. Real now: it sends once per document, a few days out.
- Writing-streak reminders — a nudge on the evening your streak is about to lapse.
- Research Radar digest — set the cadence (off / daily / weekly) right here, not just on the Radar page.
- Pause all non-essential emails — one switch that stops digests, briefings, and reminders. Account and billing emails still reach you.
Privacy
- Analytics opt-out — turn off the anonymous product analytics that help us improve Folio. It takes effect immediately and follows you across devices.
- Export your data — download everything as JSON, BibTeX, RIS, or a full ZIP, anytime.
