Folio's collaboration tools got a thorough overhaul. Sharing and comments now work end to end, and a new awareness layer keeps co-authors and reviewers in sync.
Share with confidence
- Links and email invites that just work. Create a view or comment link, or invite someone by email — they receive an email with a one-click way in and land straight in the document.
- Roles — share as a Viewer (read) or a Reviewer (read and comment).
- Manage access — see everyone with access, change a role, or remove someone, right from the Share dialog.
- Shared with me — documents others share with you now appear in a dedicated tab on your dashboard, labeled with your role.
Comment and @mention
- Anchored comments with types (comment, question, suggestion, issue), threaded replies, and resolve.
- @mentions — type
@in a comment to mention the owner or any collaborator; they're notified by the bell and by email.
Stay in the loop, live
- Notifications — a new bell in the top bar: someone joined your document, commented, replied, or mentioned you.
- Collaboration emails — the same events by email, with a toggle under Settings → Notifications (and honored by the master email pause).
- Live comments — comments appear for everyone on the document without a refresh.
- Presence — avatars show who else is viewing right now.
- Live reading — viewers see your edits update as you save, no reload needed.
Fixes
- Resolved issues where share links, email invites, and shared-document access could fail to open.
- The Issue comment type now saves correctly, and deleting a comment now sticks.
Collaboration is available on Fellow and Chair plans — only the document owner needs a paid plan, so the people you invite can join for free. True simultaneous co-editing (multiple people typing at once) is still on the way — follow it here.
