This release rounds out figures in the editor — from making a chart out of your data to laying it out and exporting it — and unifies the controls for every visual artifact.
Figure Studio — data in, chart out
Paste a table, CSV, or a few rows of numbers and Folio turns them into a clean, editable chart. Each figure is backed by a small chart spec, so you can reopen and re-edit it anytime — nothing is baked into a flat image.
- Ten chart types — bar, horizontal bar, grouped bar, stacked bar, histogram, line, area, scatter, pie, and donut. Horizontal bars read better when category labels are long; histograms bin your raw numbers for you.
- Messy data is fine — mixed delimiters, stray units and symbols (
%,$,n=), and thousands separators are handled for you. Folio only ever plots the numbers you provide — it won't invent data. - Make it yours — choose from ten palettes and toggle gridlines, the legend, and on-bar data labels. Axis labels stay legible at every size.
Lay figures out the way you want
- Side by side — pair a figure with the one next to it to place two on the same row, with a shared or per-figure caption. Changed your mind? Split apart turns a pair back into individual figures.
- Save a chart to Artifacts — keep any generated chart as a reusable image in the Artifacts panel with one click.
One toolbar for every artifact
Figures, images, tables, and figure groups now share a single, compact toolbar. Hover an artifact for quick alignment, then open Edit for everything else in a tidy panel that stays on-screen no matter where the artifact sits on the page.
- Consistent controls — captions, sizing, and positioning work the same way across figures and tables (the same XS/S/M/L caption scale everywhere).
- Group controls — reorder the figures in a group, rename or remove any one of them, and ungroup, all from one place.
Export
Figures and figure groups now render in PDF and DOCX exports alongside your tables, so a document full of charts comes out complete.
Figure Studio is available on every plan, with higher limits on Fellow and Chair; Chair can also remove the Folio mark from generated charts. Open any document and type / to find Figure Studio.
