The idea
Hover over any inline citation โ like (Smith, 2024) โ and a popover appears showing the full formatted reference: title, authors, journal, year. Click the popover to jump directly to the source in your library. No scrolling to the bibliography, no searching.
Why it matters
In a heavily-cited section, you lose track of which citation refers to which paper. Scrolling to the bottom of a 5,000-word document to check a reference breaks your reading flow. A hover preview keeps you in context โ you see the full reference without leaving the paragraph you're reading. It's especially useful during editing, when you're checking whether you cited the right source in the right place.
Where we are
This feature shipped. Hover โ or keyboard-focus โ any in-text citation in the editor and a preview card of the source appears, so you can check what you're citing without leaving the sentence.
