The idea
A proper desktop app for macOS and Windows that keeps working when the internet doesn't. Your documents and your library are available offline; edits queue locally and sync the moment you reconnect. Native niceties too โ a real app icon, system menus, and faster startup than a browser tab.
Why it matters
Writing happens on trains, on planes, in libraries with hostile Wi-Fi, and in the last hour before a deadline when the connection drops. A tool that stalls when the network does isn't one you can rely on for the work that matters most. Offline-first means the draft is always there, and the sync is something you never have to think about.
Where we are
Scoped and on the way. We've mapped out a desktop wrapper and the offline sync model that sits underneath it; the foundational piece is a change to how sessions are stored so the app stays signed in without a live connection. It's a real project, not a maybe.
