The idea
Press Cmd/Ctrl + / in the editor and a cheatsheet opens with the editor's keyboard shortcuts, grouped into Focus & flow, Navigate, Find, Edit and Structure. A clean, scannable reference that's always one shortcut away.
Why it matters
Power users shouldn't need to memorize shortcuts or hunt through menus. A good shortcuts overlay does two things: it helps experienced users move faster, and it teaches new users what's possible without leaving the editor. Most professional writing tools have this. Folio should too.
Where we are
This feature shipped. Press Cmd/Ctrl + / in the editor, or open Keyboard shortcuts from the command palette, to bring up the overlay.
A few you'll use every day:
[[inserts a citation from your library./opens the insert menu (citation, table, figure and more).- Tab indents a paragraph's first line, a list item, or moves to the next table cell.
- Cmd/Ctrl + . toggles focus mode, and Cmd/Ctrl + Shift + . toggles reading mode.
- Cmd/Ctrl + S saves right away (Folio also saves as you write).
- Cmd/Ctrl + K opens the command palette.
