The idea

Native mobile apps for iOS and Android. The core use cases for mobile: reading sources on the go, reviewing and commenting on documents, adding sources you just found, and light editing. Full AI features — Cold Start, Scholar AI, Audit, Proofread — would be available on mobile with the same plan limits as the web app.

Why it matters

Research doesn't only happen at a desk. You find a paper on the bus. You want to review a draft before a meeting. You need to add a source your advisor just emailed you. Right now, all of that requires opening a laptop and navigating to Folio in a browser. A native app makes these small, frequent interactions fast and frictionless.

Where we are

Planned, but the web experience comes first. We want the core product to be solid before we extend to new platforms. When we do build mobile, it won't be a stripped-down companion app — it'll be a real tool you can do meaningful work in.
